The history behind Baileys of Glenrowan can be traced back to the 1860s, when Richard Bailey arrived in Australia with his young family. The Baileys planted one of Glenrowan’s first vineyards, and produced their first vintage in the year 1870. Today, the state of the art Baileys winery not only uses the latest apparatus for winemaking, but also employs traditional techniques to craft some of the finest Aussie wines.
This rich and intense Baileys of Glenrowan Durif was produced using premium fruit sourced from lush vineyards in Rutherglen and Central Victoria. Showing an impenetrable dark maroon colour, the wine exudes ripe black cherry, mulberry and raspberry aromas from its mesmerising nose. These fruity fragrances are accompanied by undertones of earthy cacao. This delightful drink is rich on the palate, filled with fruity flavours, licorice and dark chocolate. Supported by grippy tannins, the finish is marked by delicious vanillin imparted by American oak maturation. This wine will improve in the bottle over the next 12 or more years. Serve it with beef or venison dishes to make the most of your experience.
