WHY DO WE LIKE THIS WINE

Barking Owl Shiraz is made using 95% Shiraz and 5% Viognier grapes, sourced from vineyards in Western Australia. The ripe fruit was co-fermented and traditionally hand-plunged to extract a deep ruby-magenta colour. The rich and fine bouquet exhibits aromas of black cherries and plums. Hallmark spiciness of Shiraz grapes is noticeable along with Viognier aromatics and undertones of vanillin oak. The plums and cherries are replicated on the rich palate, along with blueberries and supporting oak. Lots of dry and plump tannins beautifully balance the medium-bodied palate, culminating the wine in a lengthy and velvety climax. Serve with meaty dishes, light summer salads, or traditional Australian barbecues.
