Established in 1996, Bellarine Estate produces handcrafted, cold climate wines using premium fruit parcels harvested from their in house vineyards. It owns a 100-acre property, planted with a wide variety of grapevines, starting from Chardonnay, Viognier and Sauvignon Blanc grapes to Merlot, Shiraz and Pinot Noir grapes. Owners Lizette and Peter Kenny released their first vintage in the year 1999.
Poured into a glass, Phil's Fetish Pinot Noir features a dark crimson colour with a mauve haze. The aromatic nose is perfumed with invigorating scents of strawberries, cranberries, Turkish delight and rose petals. These fragrances coupled with hints of vanilla oak and spice make way for a medium bodied and structured palate. Red fruit and spice flavours integrate with fresh acidity and fine tannins on the tight palate, to culminate in a long and lingering finish reminiscent of a peacock’s tail. This beautiful Pinot Noir can be cellared for few years to develop its wonderful flavours. Drink it with bacon stuffed mushrooms, tuxedo strawberries and Brie cheese to enjoy an appealing meal.
