In 1965, when the whole world was busy meddling with the automobile craze, genius Davis Bynum dedicated his time in formulating the world-renowned Barefoot Bynum Burgundy in his small work space. More than two decades later, in 1986, Michael Houlihan and Bonnie Harvey teamed up to establish a revered winemaking institution in California, later named as the Barefoot Cellars. These two realized that “it was time for a wine that didn’t take itself seriously”. Furthermore, Bonnie’s foot stamped on a pad of ink was taken as the pattern for the witty logo the wine bottles have on their labels ever since Barefoot stepped in the world of wines.

Barefoot Pinot Grigio

One of the biggest names in the industry of winemaking, Barefoot Cellars is also active in spearheading charity events, activities for a good cause and other projects where they can show their love and gratitude for the people’s unending support for the brand.

Barefoot Cellars had their humble beginnings with the California Cabernet Sauvignon and California Sauvignon Blanc. But as the Barefoot team grew larger, more varieties were introduced to the consumers with a big help from their passionate wine artisans. From whites, to reds, to blended varieties and sparkling wines, Barefoot took an extra step to bring a wide range of high quality wines that are very affordable.

One of Barefoot Cellars’ most popular wines is the Barefoot Pinot Grigio. Harvested from the well maintained vineyards endowed by the nature with fertile soils and cool and dry climate required to produce succulent, light and crisp Pinot Grigio grapes are processed in state of the art winemaking facilities to seal perfection in every bottle.

Barefoot Pinot Grigio is a dry, clean and light-bodied drink that ends up with a bright and delectable finish. Barefoot’s version of Pinot Grigio is defined by a perfect balance of acid and tannins that make the wine easy to drink yet flavourful enough to be enjoyed with other dishes.

Palate is highlighted by tangy apple flavours with undertones of sweet white peach. Hints of floral blossoms and citrus zest cap the interesting mix of flavours to a smooth and vibrant finish.

Barefoot Pinot Grigio is best consumed within one to two years from the production date; especially during summer for a refreshing and fruity wine experience. It can be enjoyed on its own or with the three P’s: poultry, pizza and pasta dishes. Spicy seafood, crispy walnut salad, and dishes with a generous amount of dairies also pair well with Pinot Grigio.

Passion for the art of winemaking and the dedication to produce full-flavoured and innovative creations is what makes every bottle of Barefoot wines special. Those are the secrets for a Barefoot success!

Premium wine producers stamp corks with a foot to brand their products & indicate high quality. It’s not used by all wineries due to cost.
