Heifer Station Shiraz 2014

James Thomas, the Sales Manager of Heifer Station Wines was extremely happy when they announced the gold medal for their wine. He said that a great celebration took place, with a bottle of the winery’s finest sparkling wine being opened. When asked to talk about their 2014 Shiraz, Thomas said that its nose gives off peppery fragrances, with the palate being full of blackberry fruits and subtle hints of violet. The wine has a smooth mid-body texture coupled with fine and juicy tannins. According to him, warm weather conditions during the growing season helped them to yield a magnificent 2014 Shiraz harvest, which allowed for the creation of this gold-winning delight.

Other notable wineries to receive the prestigious gold medals were Cooks Lot Winery for its exquisite 2015 Riesling and Windowrie Estate at Canowindra for an elegant Family Reserve Pinot Noir.

Anthony D’Onise, esteemed winemaker at Windowrie Estate commented, “It is certainly not the first time that we have received a gold medal, but this new wine varietal is our first ever vintage, and we are extremely excited to have been awarded a gold medal for it! ”

Many other wineries were awarded silver as well as bronze medals including Philip Shaw Wines, Ross Hill Wine Group, Angullong Vineyard, Roaring Fork Wine Co. and Brngayne of Orange.
