The star wine of this range, Leaping Lizard Shiraz is a full-bodied red wine that is considered as a priceless delicacy from Western Australia. The wine displays an attractive crimson colour with lively red tinges on the sides. Fresh Shiraz grapes are harvested during the cool of the morning when the innate delightful flavours are still fully locked in every piece of fruit. After crushing the grapes, the extract is allowed to ferment in closed containers for eight days. The wine is matured in a combination of new and lightly seasoned French oak barrels for one and a half years to add complexity.
Leaping Lizard Shiraz’s bouquet is filled with spices and dark berries such as Satsuma plum, blackberry and blueberry. Notes of juicy plums, berries and dark fruits build the wine’s palate while velvety smooth tannins cap the amazing structure of flavours to a strong and complete finish.
This wine can be enjoyed fresh though a cellaring period of up to five years will reward to a more integrated wine structure.
