Low Calorie Wines

First the wines went organic and now low calorie low alcohol… Yes! That’s the latest trend as far as the love of wine goes. People have become more health conscious than they were before giving rise to the sale of low calorie evening delights in the Australian wine market.

If you too want to get on with your low calorie wine quest, here are these three rules to follow:

Search For Low Alcohol On The Label:

Look for ABV (alcohol by volume) mark on the bottle. If the bottle of white wine that you are picking up says 12.5% or less ABV, it means it is low alcohol. For reds, look for 13.5% or less ABV. A wine that is low in alcohol will be low in calories as well. Also, you can look for wines from cooler regions like Tasmania and Victoria as cool region wines are generally low in alcohol.

Check Out The Legs Of Your Wine:

In case you are at a party and have been served a glass of wine without telling you what it exactly is, no need to fret! Simply swirl the wine and check how it drips. In case it drips slowly and clings to the glass, it has good amount of sugar and alcohol in it. In case it quickly drips and does not cling to the glass, the sugar and alcohol level is less.
