Riesling is a rapidly – progressing wine varietal, not only in Australia but all across the globe. This refreshingly – acidic, lively, crisp and fruity wine has recently been gaining popularity among chefs, wine critics, sommeliers and wine – lovers. The great thing about Riesling is that it pairs well with almost all types of foods and cuisines, regardless of the taste and ingredients.

Taylors Estate Riesling

Taylors Estate Riesling is regarded as a treasure among the wines of the Clare Valley region. Although this wine is manufactured for immediate consumption while the lovely fruit characters are still fresh, ripe and young, this incredible varietal has the capacity to be cellared for 10 years or maybe even more so that it has ample time to develop the complexity and structure of the elegant Riesling fruit elements.

Taylors Estate Riesling displays intensely – citrusy characters, with lime and lemon flavours dominating the taste. Subtle notes of orange blossom, balanced by a complex acidity and juiciness make up the mid-palate which then goes on to give a crisp and lively finish with lingering flavours of zesty citrus.

Rieslings that have low residual sugar, typically dry Riesling wines like the Taylors’ varietal match perfectly with cuisines like creamy pastas, Japanese rice, hard cheeses and meaty dishes. Sweet Rieslings (wines containing 10 – 100 g/L of residual sugar) pair well with foods such as seafood platters, sausages, soft cheeses, chicken dishes and spicy foods. Dessert – style Rieslings are tremendous beverages that taste delicious with desserts like crème brulee, Pavlova, fruit pies and ice creams.
