A pioneer in Western Australia, Capel Vale has multiple vineyards across an array of regions and microclimates, all of which are unique and precious. The initial winery was built on the Stirling Estate in Capel in 1979 followed shortly thereafter with the first vintage made in 1980. The soils in the Margaret River vineyard consist of laterite gravel over sandy loam, overlying areas of granitic loamy soil which rise to the surface in the high ground.
