Pretty Good

The Cenosilicaphobic Cat is a stunning fusion of 15% Cinsault grapes with 85% Sagrantino grapes. These premium fruit parcels were crushed and then transferred to open fermenters, followed by foot treading. The juice obtained was basket pressed, and then fermented in a combination of American and French oak barrels. This process led to the creation of a dark red hued wine showing brown tints. A whiff of the wine offers pleasing aromas of cherry, mulberry, chocolate, lavender, liquorice, baked rhubarb and red fruits. These fragrances of rhubarb intermix with crushed rock flavours on the textured palate, supported by chewy tannins. Mouth-puckering minerality and acidity drive the complex palate to a structured and captivating finale. This wonderful red blend from d’Arenberg can be relished within a cellaring term of 10 to 15 years. It tastes excellent with pizza, wild asparagus and Thai curry.

WINERY INFORMATION

Owned by the Osborn family since 1912, d’Arenberg offers an outstanding range of aromatic, flavoursome and fruit-driven wines. The company was founded by Joseph Osborn, who bought the original Bundarra property. The estate is located on Osborn Road in McLaren Vale, SA. This gorgeous red blend was named after Chief Winemaker Chester Osborn’s cat – Booze, which suffered from cenocilicaphobia, or ‘fear of an empty glass’.
