: This rich and intense red wine is an elegant blend of 21% Cabernet Sauvignon and 79% Merlot grapes. The deep crimson coloured drink features hints of red along the edges. The attractive nose emanates fruity aromas of ripe plums, mulberries, blueberries and cassis, coupled with anise, pepper and cedar nuances. Hints of freshly crushed herbs enrich this aromatic bouquet further, and it smoothly makes way for a fruit driven palate. A sip of the wine reveals luxurious flavours of wild forest berries, dark plums and spice, beautifully balanced by fine grained tannins. The layered palate eventually ends in a lengthy finish. This wine has the potential to be cellared beyond 20 years. It tastes amazing with osso buco pie, spaghetti Bolognese, or roasted chicken lasagna.

Henschke was established in the year 1868, when wine pioneer Johann Christian Henschke released his first vintage. About 150 years later, the brand is managed by fifth generation winemaker Stephen Henschke, and his wife, Prue.
