Wine Description:-Stich Sauvignon Blanc is named in recognition of john 'Stich' Stichbury founder of jackson Estate. The Character of this wine typically reflects its origin and season, being distinctly aromatic and intensely flavoured and finishing with refreshingly crisp acidity.
Tasting Notes:-The aromatics show lively notes of zesty citrus and stone fruits with hints of lifted white blossom. In the mouth characters of rock melon and key lime predominate with a fine mineral concentration. Fresh acidity and a delicate lees driven backbone combine to create a full palate with finesse and depth.
Vineyards:-Fruit was sourced from our 3 estate vineyards on the central Wairau plain and Waihopal sub regions.
Weather:-Sunny, warm weather graced the vines and vineyards during all critical growth stages and carried on through to March. Only a small bout of rain at the end of March prevented this season from being all but perfect weather wise. The resulting harvest was short and relatively cndensed, rewarding those who had managed their canopies effectively resulting in lovely fruit with full flavor and maturity.
Harvest:-In total !! parcels of Sauvignon Blanc were harvested from the 3 estate vineyards over a 3 week period starting the last week of March. The extened warm seasion allowed us to individually pick each block at the optimum levels of maturity.
