This bold Shiraz was matured in a combination of American, French and Eastern European oak barrels for 13 months. Poured into a glass, it flaunts a deep ruby colour. On the nose, it emanates dark fruit aromas followed by floral notes, cedar and an underlying earthiness. A sip of the drink will charm you with complex flavours of red and dark berry fruits, black olive tapenade fused with fine-grained chalky tannins and crunchy acidity. This dense and concentrated wine is suited for all occasions and the balanced structure allows it to retain freshness.
The Kay Brothers winery was established by Australian born brothers Frederick and Herbert Kay in1890. The aim of the winery is to preserve the amazing flavours and characters provided by nature in the vineyard. All the estate-grown fruit is traditionally processed at the vineyard and the wines are hand made using the original basket press and fermentation tanks. The basket press reflects its traditional winemaking philosophy. The grapes are pressed gently, resulting in softer tannins and cleaner juice.
