The elegant Konrad Sauvignon Blanc was crafted by combining Old World philosophies with modern winemaking practices. It shows a pale straw colour cut through by light green tinges. Blissful aromas of gooseberry, grapefruit and nettle are followed by scents of exotic fruits, spice and flinty hints. The rich and punchy palate has a smooth texture and a marvellous length. It will develop further in the bottle for a period of 5 to 8 years. Suggested food pairings for this spectacular SB include freshly shucked oysters, grilled Paua, and bouillabaisse.
WINERY INFORMATION
Konrad Wines is owned and operated by the Hengstler family – Konrad, Sigrun, Carlo and Conrad. Immigrating from Germany, the Hengstlers settled in Melbourne. On a visit to New Zealand, Konrad came across Marlborough Sauv Blanc. Smitten by its elegance, he decided to move to Marlborough and establish his own wine brand.
