The aim for this Chardonnay is to work with some outstanding fruit to make a wine that is complex, textural and shows the vineyard in as natural a way as possible. This fruit comes from a small organically grown and certified parcel from the To be more vineyard, located in the Rapaura region of Marlborough.
Elegant and structured, showing green melon and citrus peel aromas with floral notes also. Creamy and textural with nice weight and a long finish. Bright, light golden-hued straw-yellow colour. The bouquet is gentle full and broad, showing good presence and volume of subtly expressed aromas of ripe yellow stone fruits with hints of citrus and tropical fruits along with an array of nutty and oaky elements that unfolds in the glass. Full-bodied, the palate is solid and rounded with a mouth filling boldness and presence. The flavours of ripe stone fruits, tropical fruits and nuts are initially restrained but open up with the breadth to show richness and power.
