This Maude Pinot Gris was crafted using fruit picked from premium Central Otago sites, including the mature family vineyard in Wanaka, Mount Maude. The grapes were bunch pressed and partial barrel fermented to create complexity. The resulting wine features a pale straw colour with green tints. The aromatic bouquet of this Pinot Gris opens with fragrances of rose petals, ripe pears, brioche, musk and quince. Its palate is rich and textured with poached pear and spice flavours. The wine finishes crisp, clean and precise, and pairs well with pork dishes.
Maude is known for producing some of the best handcrafted wines of the Central Otago region. Settled in the stunning backdrop of Lake Wanaka, the family-owned winery has a 4-hectare vineyard in Maungawera Valley, planted back in 1994. Experienced winemaking couple Sarah-Kate and Dan Dineen are the people behind the success of Maude Wines.
