WHY DO WE LIKE THIS WINE

The richly flavoured grapes used to craft Hanwood Estate Chardonnay were picked in the cool of the night. Some parcels underwent malolactic fermentation for character and complexity. The resulting drink flaunts a lively straw colour accompanied by light green tinges. The very varietal nose offers intense aromas of nectarine, peach and rockmelon that are further enhanced by gentle biscuit and nutty fragrances. Hints of butterscotch complete the fine bouquet, which in turn seamlessly paves the way for a rich palate. A sip of the wine reveals sweet peach and citrus characters, along with a lovely texture. Balanced by clean acidity, the well-structured palate eventually culminates in a refreshing and long finish. Pair the intense aromas and flavours of this white wine with Camembert cheese, fettuccine Alfredo or chicken pot pie.

WINERY INFORMATION Every bottle of wine by McWilliam’s reflects six generations of hard work and winemaking experience. The history of the company can be traced back to 1877 when wine pioneer Samuel McWilliam planted his very first grapevines on the outskirts of Corowa, in NSW. The brand believes that good wines are crafted by people, and not companies.
