McWilliam’s Hanwood Estate is a family owned winery managed by sixth-generation winemaker Scott McWilliam. With more than 139 years of experience, these wines showcase the family’s passion for winemaking, which started with Samuel McWilliam when he first planted grapevines on the banks of the Murray River in NSW. In 2012, McWilliam’s was named the Most Successful Exhibitor at the Sydney Royal Wine Show for the 18th consecutive year.
The grapes used to craft McWilliam’s Inheritance Chardonnay were harvested on cool nights, crushed, pressed off skins, and fermented to dryness in French oak barrels to retain maximum fruit flavours, build texture and add a touch of in-vouge funk. This elegant Chardonnay features a pale straw colour with light yellow hues throughout the wine. The luxurious bouquet hints at juicy aromas of ripe stone fruit, green apple, peach blossom and white nectarine coupled with fine nutty characters and subtle oak notes. This elegant wine is sweet and intense on the palate, which packs fresh fruit flavours balanced by a refreshing mineral acidity, to provide a creamy texture and soft finish. Made to relish upon release, this wonderful white wine tastes marvellous with Spaghetti Marinara, Mediterranean chicken salad and chicken Kiev.
