O'Leary Walker Adelaide Hills Chardonnay 2021 - 6 Bottles

Availability: In stock

Pretty Good

VINEYARD: Mark O'Leary's Benwerrin Vineyard is located at Oakbank in the picturesque Adelaide Hills. Vineyard aspect is integral to the production of the highest quality fruit. At Benwerrin the 20 year old Chardonnay vines are planted on a northerly facing slope. This combination of cool climate and long days of sunshine creates flavour and aromatic qualities, to craft a wine of depth and character. The 2013 vintage had a long even ripening period producing wines with great depth of flavour and intensity. VINIFICATION: Fruit is harvested by hand and transported to the winery in a refrigerated truck. The juice is then drained and gently pressed resulting in a fine free-run cut and a pressings component, kept separately in stainless steel tanks. The free-run is transferred to French oak hogsheads for primary and malo-lactic fermentation. Once complete, the barrels are lees stirred three times a week for six weeks. This adds another layer of complexity and texture to this delicate single vineyard Chardonnay. After several months the wine is racked to tank, chilled and filtered prior to bottling.COLOUR: Pale straw green tinge BOUQUET: This wine displays delicate stone fruit characters of white peach and nectarine, with subtle grapefruit aromas. PALATE: Fine yet powerful with great fruit weight, intensity of flavours. Balanced with fine acid and oak complexity. FOOD MATCH: Try a salad of grilled scallops with blue cheese and hazelnuts.
