TASTING NOTES

From the revered Catalina Sounds comes this Sauvignon Blanc, primarily sourced from the home-grown Sound of White vineyard in Marlborough’s Waihopai Valley. This elegant white wine is pale straw-lemon in colour with some green hues. The nose is greeted by a bouquet of black currant leaves, stone fruits, citrus and gentle tropical fruits complemented by crushed sweet herbs and light floral scents. It is fairly opulent yet possesses a precise acid backbone. The palate displays a trace of black currant leaves, herbs and stone fruits, giving way to citrus flavours with suggestions of guava and pineapple. Oak fermentation has added texture to the wine. Suggested food accompaniments to this wine include salads, grilled vegetables, seafood and Asian cuisines.
