Winery Information

Harewood Estate, based in Western Australia’s Great Southern region, is known for pushing boundaries through their Flux series. These limited-release wines are one-off experiments that may never be made again. Each bottle in the Flux range is individually numbered and features a unique label design, created using specific vineyard data like harvest dates, GPS locations, and grape yields. No two bottles are the same – both inside and out.

Vineyards & Vintage Conditions

The Flux-VII White Blend is made from a “field blend” of Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, and Riesling grown side by side in the Frankland River area, in the northern part of the Great Southern. The region’s warm days and cool nights help develop ripe, expressive fruit while keeping the wine’s natural acidity in balance.

Winemaking

The wine is made using a mix of traditional and modern techniques. 60% Pinot Gris, 30% Gewürztraminer, and 10% Riesling were harvested together and co-fermented. A small part of the Pinot Gris was matured in French oak puncheons for six months to add a soft, rounded texture. After fermentation, the wine was carefully handled with minimal intervention to retain its fresh, vibrant fruit flavours.

Tasting Notes

• Appearance: Pale straw with bright clarity.

• Nose: Fragrant floral notes, exotic tropical fruit, citrus zest and ripe stone fruit.

• Palate: A lively mix of citrus, tropical, and stone fruits with soft spice on the mid-palate. Finishes long and zesty with a touch of texture from the oak-aged Pinot Gris.
  
  

Food Pairing

This white blend is great with lightly spiced Asian dishes, fresh seafood, grilled chicken, or soft cheeses. It also makes a refreshing, easy-drinking choice on its own.
