WINERY INFORMATION:

Johann Gramp planted his very first vineyard in 1847 along the banks of Jacob’s Creek. With the vision to craft wines of excellent varietal, regional as well as character depth, Johann Gramp started wine production by establishing the Jacob’s Creek winery in the Barossa Valley region of South Australia.

TASTING NOTES:

Jacob’s Creek Classic Merlot is a purple hued wine cut through by garnet tinges. The lifted nose gives off vibrant scents of plum and spice, with an attractive oak influence in the backdrop. The medium-weighted and complex palate is rife with rich red fruit flavours and nuances of toasty oak. Delicate and velvety tannins coupled with a fleshy mid-palate lead to a climax that is fresh and fruity. This juicy and elegant Merlot is a perfect match to foods like creamy pasta and semi-hard cheese.
