The Perricoota wine region is a part of the Big Rivers zone. It is one of the emerging wine regions of Australia located in southern New South Wales. The region with a typical Australian riverine landscape takes its name from the historic Perricoota Station which is a grazing property established in 1840. Perricoota received its geographical indication status in the year 1999.

Observing a cool climate, Perricoota vineyards enjoy long sunshine hours which helps in producing wines with good flavour and structure, besides being soft and approachable. Most of the region's vineyards are irrigated from the Murray River. The moisture-rich red clay loam soil with good texture and moderate acidity have proven successful for a broader variety of grapes. Chardonnay, Cabernet, Semillon and Shiraz are the top varieties currently grown in Perricoota.
