The South Coast zone includes a narrow coastal belt, stretching from Sydney's Hunter Valley in the north to Victorian border in the south with south-eastern parts of New South Wales. The climate of the South Coast zone is highly influenced by the Pacific Ocean which lies to its east. The weather is humid most of the times, with moderate temperature changes and unexpected rainfalls. However, grape varieties like Savagnin, Chambourcin and Verdelho have shown a natural resistance to the wavering weather conditions of this zone. South Coast has two AGI declared regions: Shoalhaven Coast and Southern Highlands.
