Pretty Good

: Robert Oatley’s Signature Series Riesling is crafted from grapes grown in the Great Southern region. The vineyard sources for this wine are Porongurup, Mount Barker and Frankland River. Free run juice from the grape parcels was naturally fermented with yeasts to maintain the distinct qualities of the fruit. A standing quality of this wine is its purity, punctuated by zesty citrus and vibrant minerality. Lemon-lime dominates both the nose and the palate, and its fine acidity and soft texture make it a crisp and dry drink. This wine would be a wonderful match to spicy Asian food or seafood served with butter sauce.

WINERY INFORMATION:

Founder Robert Oatley is a first-generation winemaker. Their family planted their vines in the late 1960s with the intention of selling their grapes to another company, who eventually backed out of their deal. The family made a business decision to make their own wine instead, and that decision was the turning point in their winemaking career. From producing a starting batch of around 60 to 80 cases, they now produce several brands crafted from grapes grown in their family-own vineyards as well as various premier vineyards all over Australia.
