This Pinot Grigio culled from the Central Ranges region contains an alcohol level of 12.5%. This is a nice, crisp and dry white wine which has a pale straw colour with green edges. The nose bursts with aromas of bright and crisp fruit characters of green apple, pear, orange blossom and jasmine. Ripe pear and vibrant citrus rind flavours meet the front palate, while lemon curd and apple peel flavours show up in the mid-palate. The finish features a slatey acid aftertaste. It is an ideal accompaniment to foods such as sushi, grilled Chilean sea bass, pan-seared grouper, grilled scallops, parmesan-crusted roasted chicken and sesame-soy grilled shrimp.
Cumulus Wines was established in 1995 on a sprawling 508-hectare vineyard, which rises about 600 meters above sea level across a range of slopes and elevations encompassing the Orange and Central Ranges wine regions. In such a unique environment coupled with ancient volcanic soils over a limestone base, an excellent structure for balanced vine growth is easily available. In 2015, Cumulus merged with Beelgara, which also owns the brands Moss Bros, Riddoch Run and Habitat.
