: The Pastiche is a vibrant expression of Heathcote Shiraz, made in a medium-bodied style where the focus is on bright, juicy fruit combined with subtle oak. Bright red purple colour. The nose displays aromas of dark plum and black fruit with hints of cocoa and sweet spice. The palate is vibrant with rich dark fruit intensity, well balanced acidity, with fine tannin structure providing great length. This Shiraz is made to be approachable in its youth, but will also gain in complexity and finesse over the next 3-5 years.

WINERY INFORMATION:

The hand picked grapes were destemmed without crushing and fermented in small open vats between 9 – 14 days, with hand plunging twice per day. The wine was fermented on skins to dryness before being pressed to barrel. Maturation in mostly French (90%) and American (10%) oak for 10 months, combining a small portion new oak (10%) and mostly seasoned oak has allowed the fruit to have full expression with the oak playing a supporting role.
