The Lane Vineyard is a 70-hectare piece of land planted with 144,160 individual vines. It sits 400 meters above sea level near Hahndorf in Adelaide Hills. The area enjoys a Mediterranean climate characterized by gentle summers and cold and wet winters. The ancient gravelly soils of the area, along with the Mediterranean climate and long sunlight hours, greatly influence The Lane Vineyard’s grapes by enhancing the intense fruit flavours and by providing natural acidity, elegance, balance and focus to the distinct grape varieties.
The Lane Lois Blanc de Blancs belongs to the Block Series, which consists of fruit-driven wines that reflect the spirit of the terroir. This wine is a blend of three Chardonnay clones. When swirled in the glass, it displays a lovely pale lemon colour with sparkling green hues. Each whiff greets the nose with lemon sorbet, cracked wheat and fresh green apple scents. The creamy palate features lemon and lime flavours with a touch of minerality. This exquisite wine has a clean and long finish, with a fine bead and delightful tanginess. Suggested food pairings include truffle risotto, oysters, lobsters, crème Brulee and flambé peaches.
