Verduzzo Wines Online

Verduzzo, also known as Verduzzo Friulano is another Italian grape varietal grown mostly in the Giulia region. Many wine - writers believe that the Verduzzo variety has the capability of producing honeyed sweet wines with zesty citrus notes that resemble an ‘orange jelly candy’. It can also be used to produce dry and tannic white wines with ‘chalky’ undertones. However, this variety is usually used to manufacture sweet wines and not dry as Verduzzo grapes have high tannins in them, making them the most astringent white grape varietal, even more so when they are subjected to fermentation to dry them out. This makes it a little unpopular as a dry variety. This wine is known by other names like Verduc, Veduzz and Verdicchio Friulano as well. Perfect food pairings with it include almond bread pudding and brandy snaps.
