WHY DO WE LIKE THIS WINE

The wine is dark cherry red in colour, with a tinge of purple along the edges. This wine while young is fragrant with lavender, citrus peel and nougat-like sweetness from the well-managed oak. In the background, the classic cassis of the Cabernet variety fuses with earthy undergrowth characters from the Merlot strain. A medium to full-bodied wine, the front palate experiences a sweet juicy expanse while the mid-palate gets its fill of ripe and nutty structural tannins coupled with hints of black roasted coffee, powering through to a long and savoury finish. Cellaring for nine years is a sound option. This rich wine pairs well with venison rump, slow-cooked beef roast and sautéed mushrooms.
