Willow Bridge Estate Gravel Pit Shiraz 2017 Geographe - 6 Bottles
Availability: Out of stock

Shiraz berries are known for their slow maturation, longevity, balsamic hints and dark fruited notes. Upon maturation, Shiraz wines emerge as dark, medium-bodied, heavily scented and structurally complex wines. The nose detects unfurled aromas of dark plums, pepper spice and blueberry, with slight hints of vanilla and cedar oak traces. These characters meld on the palate to combine a seamless profile of black fruits, plums, mixed berry fruits, licorice and tasty oak. The texture is dense, filled with fine-grained tannins. This is a softly-styled red wine with a long, sublime finish. Additional cellaring for 9 to 12 years will add additional layers of flavours and fragrances. A versatile wine made in many different ways, it matches well with Moroccan dishes, beef Wellington, lamb and hard cheeses.
WINERY INFORMATION
Willow Bridge Estate is a family-owned wine estate, with an area of approximately 60hectares planted to at least 10 well-known grape varieties. The multi-awarded estate is headed by Jeff Dewar, whose characteristic spirit of wine culture is a steadfast belief that wines are made in the vineyard and that the whole wine staff should work closely together with the vineyard. To this end, this winery has produced a wide range of exquisite wines, of which this Gravel Pit Shiraz comes from the Estate series. As the name implies, the vines were grown on a site where gravel used to be excavated for road construction use.
