The fruit for this wine is selected from a single vineyard at Windowrie and harvested on the basis of flavours intensity and tannin maturity. Matured in new French oak barrels and stainless steel tanks for 1 year, this wine is racked three times and then stored further. When poured in a wine glass, it displays enchanting red-purple hues. Producing unique floral notes with shiraz typical darker berries and clove spice, it is highly aromatic. The palate shows a lovely balance of flavours with juicy dark blackberry, ripe plum with vanillin oak and clove spice from oak maturation. Soft and generous in the mouth, this drink is well balanced with natural tannins.
Windowrie is a boutique winery producing flavoursome organic wines using fruits harvested from their vineyards in Cowra, NSW. The O'Dea family has been managing the company since 1959 when David and Wizz purchased the estate. The family established their own vineyard in 1987 with an initial plantation of 60 acres. By 1991, the company rapidly expanded it to 150 acres.
