Windowrie is a family owned wine estate producing flavoursome and delicious organic wines. It was founded by David and Wizz O’Dea in 1959. Pig In The House is a flourishing vineyard located 20kms from Cowra in the picturesque Central Ranges, NSW. Established in 1996, the vineyard is currently owned and managed by Jason and Rebecca O’Dea.
The fruits used to craft this organic Pig In The House Chardonnay were crushed, destemmed, and transferred to a small membrane press. The must obtained was pressed and settled in stainless steel tanks, and then treated with neutral yeast. This process led to the creation of a pale straw coloured Chardonnay exhibiting intense aromas of pear and yellow peach from its perfumed bouquet. This wonderful Chardonnay is juicy and lively on the palate, filled with flavours of lemon, peel and nectarine supported by firm acidity. The finale is structured and captivating. This delightful white wine has been crafted to enjoy fresh and young, but can also be consumed within a cellaring period of 2 to 3 years. It tastes great served chilled with Mediterranean Quinoa salad.
