Richard Hamilton is a fifth - generation winegrower who founded his own vineyards and winery in McLaren Vale in the year 1972. Inspired by his father, Burton Hamilton who was a skilled viticulturist and descendant of a remarkable family heritage dating back to the 1830s, Richard has been able to establish two of the country’s finest labels – Leconfield Wines (Coonawarra) and Richard Hamilton Wines (McLaren Vale), along with his wife Jette. Over the centuries, the Hamilton family has built a strong reputation of creating premium - quality wines all over the globe. The motto and philosophy of this legendary House is Great wines are crafted from great vineyards.
