Brokenwood Wines is situated at the heart of the Hunter Valley wine region. It lays claim to the iconic Graveyard Vineyard with the motto of ‘making great wines and having fun’. Originally, the land was reserved for establishing the Cricket Pitch Vineyard and was purchased in the year 1970. It was immediately planted with Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz varieties. The Graveyard Vineyard was purchased in 1978 and planted with Shiraz grapes. By the mid - 80s, it was producing a premium Single Vineyard varietal. In the year 1993, the Langton’s Classification of Premium Australian Wines was launched for the first time and the Graveyard Shiraz won the title of ‘Best Hunter Valley Shiraz’. It remains so till date. Hunter Valley is particularly known for its dry table wines of Shiraz and Semillon varietals. Brokenwood Wines produces premium Shiraz and Semillon varietals that have won critical acclaim from consumers and critics alike.
