Taylors Estate

The Taylor family established its vineyards in Clare valley after its excavation. Fossilized remains of tiny seahorses were found in the limestone bedrock of the valley, giving confirmation that the region had once been an ancient inland sea bed. Thus, they adopted the seahorse as their symbol and today, three seahorses on their wine bottles represent three generations of the Taylor family that have been in the winemaking business. The first release of the 1973 Taylors Cabernet was a huge success and received gold medals in various national wine shows. It was a grand moment for the Taylors as they were not expecting such a marvellous opening to their wine.
