Australian Women in Wine Awards 2017

For its third consecutive year, more than 60 women from the Australian wine industry came together in London to attend the annual Australian Women in Wine Awards 2017. This glorious event has taken place outside Australia for the first time, with the support of Wine Australia. It was organized at Australia House in the City of Westminster, on 26th September 2017.

According to founder Jane Thomson, the goal of AWIW 2017 was to showcase the talent of the most prominent female Aussie winemakers and winery owners to the wine market in the UK. She says that this was a pivotal moment in Australian wine history since they promoted global recognition for the beautiful winemaking women of Australia. Jane made a bold statement, saying that focusing on the accomplishments of women in community benefits every person in that community.

After announcing the winners of the various categories, the 300+ guests were treated to a remarkable evening of tasting close to 300 distinct and delicious wines from over 18 alluring wine regions of Australia. This gala served as an iconic evening as it celebrates the spirit and passion of the various Australian women who are bound to leave their mark on the wine world for years to come!
