Buy Classic White Blends Wines Online
Blending together popular grape varieties has become a common practice in the New World. This process allows consumers to get a taste of two or more varieties fused together in a single wine. This is fun practice for winemakers as well since it allows them to hone their skills and balance different flavour profiles to create a wine with a rich and elegant mouthfeel. Availability of various classic white blends wines online has allowed wine enthusiasts to try out and appease themselves with new and innovative wines. Some of the beloved white wines blended together are given below.
White Bordeaux blends
This term is used to refer to blends manufactured using three classic white wine grapes – Muscadelle, Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc. Sauvignon Blanc grapes add lush grassy aromas to the blend; Semillon contributes slight honey notes and complexity to the wine, while the Muscadelle grape variety imbibes the wine with blissful grapey fragrances. These white Bordeaux blends have a pale gold colour, with golden green highlights visible throughout the wine. Pleasing aromas of citrus, hay and grass are given off by the luscious bouquet, while the rich and intense palate features flavours of honeyed lemon, dried apricot, orange marmalade and sweet nuts. Pairing this marvellous white blend with dishes like fish tacos, tofu stuffed peppers and lobster terrine bring out hidden characters in the wine.
Sauvignon Blanc Semillon
This classic blend is mostly produced in wine regions of France, where both Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc are established as premium grape varieties individually. Recently, Australian winemakers too dipped their hands in the creation of Semillon Sauvignon Blanc blends, producing dry and crispy white blends. This blend is an innovative and simplified version of the White Bordeaux Blend and has a similar structure and flavour profile. Light and grassy aromas coupled with refreshing acidity are added to the blend via Sauvignon Blanc grapes, while the Semillon variety provides the wine with an elegant structure and mouthfeel. These wines are best consumed within a few years of their release, as their silky texture and lively flavours taste best in the initial years of manufacture. Foods like Roquefort cheese, crepes and caramel cream and thinly sliced octopus with lime match perfectly with these white blends.
