Peter Jackson, Winemaker at Catalina Sounds, believes in crafting wines which are representative of the beloved Marlborough region. Waihopai Valley, home of the Catalina Sounds vineyards, is blessed with long sunny days, cool nights, low autumn rains and free draining soils.

TASTING NOTES:

This Sauvignon Blanc varietal is pale straw in colour with a trace of some green hues. It has a muted yet bold bouquet – a welcome combination of herbal notes further enhanced by tropical fruits, citrus and stone fruit. The palate experiences a cleansing moment, gracefully proportioned with a mineral acidity bringing the fruit flavours to a long, filling climax. Its balanced flavour profile is lively and fresh. For this delightful wine, a few suggested food pairings include simple seafood dishes, Asian-themed dishes, goat cheese, and grilled vegetables. For the more adventurous, however, this Sauvignon Blanc when chilled, partners well with French, Indian and Japanese cuisine.
