WINERY INFORMATION

Wirra Wirra is an aboriginal name meaning “amongst the gum trees”. Established in McLaren Vale in 1894 by well-known South Australian eccentric Robert Strangways Wigley, it was one of the first South Australian wineries to export across the globe in the early 1900s. Wirra Wirra has been proudly exporting wines to the world for over 100 years. This Shiraz hails from the premium wine region of Adelaide, south of the state’s capital. It is bright and fresh on the palate with fragrant fruits of plum, blackberry and raspberry, supported by fine, subtle oak.

TASTING NOTES

Deep plum with brilliant crimson hue. Lifted fruits of plum, mulberry, and blackberry. The rich fruits are mixed with fresh oregano herb and violet lift. The palate is bright and juicy with plum and red berry fruits. The ripe fruits are balanced by fine silky tannins providing a wine with lovely balance and weight. This Shiraz which is made with cuisine in mind. Medium to full-bodied, this wine will suit an array of dishes from around the globe. From Mushroom Risotto to marinated Mediterranean style lamb with couscous.
