Hay Shed Hill Pitchfork Semillon Sauvignon Blanc
December 07, 2015
The Hay Shed Hill estate is one of the leading vineyards in the Margaret River wine region. It is because of pioneering vineyards such as these that Margaret River has earned its reputation as one of the most remarkable wine - producing regions in the world. Situated in the premier sub-region of Margaret River, the Willyabrup Valley is known for producing single vineyard wines of exceptional taste and quality that aptly express the varying characters of the regional fruit.
The first vines were planted on the property in the early - 1970s. By the late - 80s, the Morrison family took control over the estate and gave it its current name ‘Hay Shed Hill’. It was named so in regard to a tiny old hay shed located in a small corner of the vineyard site. The property then experienced numerous changes in ownership, label names, distribution patterns and winemaking styles until the current owners bought the vineyard and returned everything to its former name, style and glory. Their motto is to develop and sell flavoursome and high - quality wines full of regional fruit characters and flavours.
The Pitchfork brand, Hay Shed Hill’s sister label was developed in order to complement the features of the single vineyard Hay Shed wines. Tools found in the old hay shed on the Hay Shed Hill property proved to be an inspiration for the name of this sister label. Pitchfork wines were crafted solely using superior - quality Margaret River grapes that are full of juice and flavour. These wines are intense, clean and vibrant, displaying the fruit characteristics without any trickery or fancy adornments.
The excellent Pitchfork wine series consist of Pitchfork Chardonnay, Pitchfork Shiraz, Pitchfork Semillon Sauvignon Blanc, Pitchfork Cabernet Merlot, Pitchfork Pink Rose and Pitchfork Moscato.
