Margaret River wine region is located in the far south-west corner of Western Australia. In a dry year, Margaret River climate is similar to Bordeaux but has the most marked maritime climate in terms of rainfall. The region experiences low diurnal temperature leading to very even heat accumulation. Predominantly gravelly loam on gneiss and granite from Cape Naturaliste to Cape Leeuwin, the region specialises in producing Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc grape varieties.
