McGuigan Black Label Sauvignon Blanc: Tropical Fruits and Herbs
December 17, 2015
A single page will not be enough to narrate the long and rich winemaking heritage that McGuigan Wines has established. Having a bottle of their wine would at least give you a good picture of what winemaking expertise is all about.
The humble beginnings of McGuigan Wines date way back to 1880. The man behind this was a genius and forward-looking famer named Owen McGuigan. He owned a small vineyard to supplement the income of his family from a dairy farm business. This man set the standards of putting hard work and passion to the craft of winemaking.
Perc McGuigan, Owen’s son, succeeded the family’s business and steered the company to become one of the leading wineries in the Hunter Valley wine region. By upholding the family’s core values in winemaking and making good use of his leadership skills, Perc became a Living Legend awardee.
Brian, Perc’s son and a third generation McGuigan also received the Living Legend award most for bringing success and making the company more popular among Australian wine enthusiasts by creating an exciting fusion of flavours.
The 2013 McGuigan Black Label Sauvignon Blanc is an exquisite vintage that is considered a treasure from South Eastern Australia. This aromatic wine features a bouquet of ripe tropical fruits of mango and melon with hints of herbs such as grass, asparagus and capsicum. Its palate features classic characters of passionfruit with undertones of grass and yellow peach that cap to a light, crisp and refreshing finish.
This wine pairs perfectly with light dishes such as garden salads, mixed tropical fruits, seafood and chicken dishes and creamy white sauce pasta.
Since almost a century and a half, McGuigan Wines continuously brings world-class wines to all important events, memorable moments and celebrations of success.
