5. How is red wine made? +

Red wine is made by fermenting red or black grapes together with their skins. Leaving the skins in contact with the juice is what draws out the colour, tannins and much of the flavour. Once fermentation is done, the wine is pressed off the skins and matured in either stainless steel or oak, depending on the style the winemaker is chasing.
