Buy Sauvignon Blanc Semillon (SBS) Wine Online
The Sauvignon Blanc Semillon blend is amongst the most beloved and popular white wine blends in the world. It is a classic versatile blend grown mostly in France’s Bordeaux region and Australia’s Margaret River wine region. Although typically used for the creation of dry and crisp wines, it is also used in producing the most prestigious and renowned sweet wine in the world – Sauternes. The blend inherits grassy aromas and a vibrant and zesty acidity from Sauvignon Blanc while the Semillon variety endows it with a rich mouth feel and complex structure. Dry Sauvignon Semillon blends are mostly intended for consumption within a few years of the vintage, but a choice few wines that are barrel - matured can improve their aromatic and flavour profile over a course of 10 - 12 years. Sweet wine varietals manufactured from this blend have the honour of being the most expensive and longest - living wines, of which the Sauternes’ Chateau d’Yquem is a prime example.
