In year 2006, renowned viticulturist consultant Tim Brown and visionary winemaker Tobias Ansted joined the team to produce the first vintage of Tellurian Wines – the 2008 Tellurian Heathcote Shiraz. In the year 2009, a special wine by the name of Pastiche Shiraz was released that combined fruit from the Tranter Rd Vineyard and the vineyard of the Tuohey family on Mt Camel’s eastern side.

The winery’s Tranter Rd Vineyard has been established on Mt Camel’s western slopes overlooking the town of Toolleen. The estate comprises of 80 hectares of farming land, 22Ha of which is planted with grapevines. 16Ha of land was planted with Shiraz vines in 2002, 2003 and 2006 while the remaining 6Ha was planted with Mourvedre, Riesling, Viognier, Marsanne, Grenache and Nero D’Avola varieties.

The land is covered with Cambrian soils that are nutrition - rich, red decomposed greenstone rocks that go as deep as 2m into the land. This superior quality fruit is used to craft the beloved Pastiche Shiraz, Marsanne, Viognier and Grenache - Shiraz - Mourvedre varietals.

The Tuohey family vineyard is planted with grapes that are blended together with the fruit from the Tellurian Wines vineyard in order to produce the elegant Tellurian Heathcote Pastiche Shiraz.

The grapes used to create the Viognier varietal are imported from selected vineyards close to Toolleen. Tellurian Wines team maintains a close relationship with growers from these vineyards so as to ensure the growth and import of high - quality and flavoursome fruit.
