WINERY INFORMATION
The first vines at Barringwood’s Barrington Vineyard were planted in 1993. Known for its world-class, cool climate sparkling wines, Barringwood is owned by Vanessa and Neville Bagot. In addition to the vineyard in Lower Barrington, Barringwood also owns two vineyards in Evandale and Cranbrook respectively.
TASTING NOTES
Barringwood Schonburger is an award-winning and one of the most exotic wines from Barringwood crafted using a rare grape variety - Schonburger. The wine shows a pale straw colour and opens with aromas of rose petals, Turkish delight and Muscat smells. Its gently spiced perfume carries through to tropical notes of papaya and guava on the palate. The finish is balanced with a hint of upfront sweetness. It can be enjoyed with spicy Asian or Middle-Eastern food, and strong cheeses.
