Circa 1858 is a range of fine wines by Robert Oatley. Circa 1858 celebrates over 150 years of Australian winemaking tradition, started by Adam and Katharina Roth in 1858. It was they who established the Central Ranges region oldest standing winery - Craigmoor (previously Rothview). Circa 1858 wines are a refreshing take on Oatley's most popular styles crafted in a traditional way.

TASTING NOTES

The fruit for Circa 1858 Shiraz was sourced from Central Ranges. The wine flaunts a brilliant purple-black colour with magenta hints displayed on the edges. This rich and flavoursome Shiraz exudes all the hallmarks of the varietal on the nose. The rich palate is rife with flavours of vibrant red fruits, plums and spice. Combined with soft and ripe tannins, these characters seamlessly shift to a long finale. Serve this wine with tomato sauce-based preparations, grilled lamb or game dishes.
