WINERY INFORMATION:

Joseph Osborn, the Director of Thomas Hardy & Sons, founded the d’Arenberg wine company in the year 1912. Joseph and his son, Frank, started acquiring more vineyards to grow their own grapes. They initially started by producing fortified wines which were mostly exported to England. The present range of d’Arenberg wines was launched by third generation winemaker and owner, Francis Osborn, in 1959.

TASTING NOTES:

The Galvo Garage Cabernet Blend from d’Arenberg Wines is an exquisite fusion of 21% Merlot and 14% Petit Verdot grapes with 65% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. These lush fruit parcels were picked in small batches, then crushed and transferred to open fermenters. Post foot treading, the juice was basket pressed and transferred to French oak barrels. This process resulted in the creation of a deep red coloured wine featuring a vibrant purple haze. This stunning Cabernet Blend flaunts an attractive bouquet and elegant palate brimming with fresh fruit characters and leafy earthiness. The aromas and flavours in the wine culminate in a savoury and spicy finish. Suggested food pairings for this exquisite red blend include chicken and chorizo risotto, barbecued steak, and hamburgers.
