Chief Winemaker Chester Osborn has been a part of the family owned d’Arenberg estate since childhood. After successfully completing his degree in Oenology from Roseworthy Agricultural College in 1983, he joined the family company as the Chief Winemaker. With a strong passion to discover new grape varieties that can be harvested in the unique terroir of McLaren Vale, Chester has played a key role in introducing grapes like Marsanne, Roussanne, Souzao, Tempranillo and Viognier to the region.

TASTING NOTES:

The Wild Pixie Shiraz is a stylish blend of 6% Roussanne grapes with 94% Shiraz grapes. This bright violet hued wine emanates red berry, spice and ironstone aromas from its scintillating nose. These lifted scents seamlessly move to the fine and clean palate, where they are balanced by crunchy acidity and structured tannins. This delightful Shiraz ends in a captivating finish. It can be cellared for a few years from vintage to enhance its fruit profile. This beautiful wine from d’Arenberg Wines is a great food accompaniment to herb crusted rack of lamb, barbecues, and Gouda cheese.
